How this glass sits on the iPad 11
This is a replacement surface, not a cosmetic film. Tempered glass takes scratches, resists impact and is cheap enough to retire once it has done its job. The outline is cut for the iPad 11 at 10.9", clearing the sensor row and the speaker slot. It goes on by hand with the guide frame from the box, which holds the sheet square while it drops. 9H hardness handles grit, and the touch layer stays light enough that gestures land the way they did before.
What the clear finish changes day to day
The finish is a plain clear finish that keeps colour and brightness the way the panel renders them, which is the main thing you notice after the first day. Smudges clear with a dry cloth, and the panel underneath stays as it left the factory. Replacement is part of the plan — a protector that cracks has spent itself usefully, and swapping it costs a fraction of a screen repair. With 2 sheets in the box there is room for a second attempt. Work in a bathroom after a hot shower if the room is dusty; the settled air makes a bubble free fit much easier.
